Motorola PEBL U6

For some years Motorola relies on its designers team to support its success sales, launching new models with an original design that defy the tradition. Bringing to market special models that push the limits, Motorola obtained from the mobile phone users the targeted appreciation.

As opposite to the ultra-thin RAZR series, Motorola launched at the begging of year 2006 a smooth contours device, styled after a stone that has been rounded and smoothed by exposure to the water. PEBL U6 dimensions are similar to those of a credit card, a bit bigger than the ones suggested by the name. The classical clamshell form of the PEBL U6 hides an unique spring loaded opening mechanism with a magnetic clasp that holds the two halves together.

Tech-talks

PEBL combines utility and functionality in an unique design, however when it comes to features its better to keep in mind that PEBL U6 is just an exceedingly stylish voice phone. We appreciated world phone support; the Bluetooth connectivity and the out-of-the-ordinary ‘wave’ keyboard, assisted by iTAP when writing messages.

We also considered the fact that the Motorola PEBL U6 was released some time ago, in order to try to understand the presence of the VGA camera ( 0.3 megapixels), lack of a mp3 player, only 5MB of internal memory and no memory card slot or lack of EDGE data. The PEBL is targeted at users that want an attractive and beautifully crafted handset and are willing to spend 150$.
