Beautiful to use” is the new Nokia motto for 3 new models which combine exclusive design with a bundle of features: the Nokia 6600 which comes in 2 versions fold and slide, and Nokia 3600 slide.
Nokia 6600 fold
The first of the 3 is the Nokia 6600 fold, a clamshell that offers a smooth motion electromagnetic mechanism for opening the phone. The design is completed by the unusual materials used for the slick back and the high gloss front. The device is based on the Nokia Series 40 user interface and will have support for microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 4GB and will come at an estimated price of 275 Euro before subsidies and taxes.
The QVGA 2.2 Inch display benefits of the OLED technology and the features list continues with an accelerometer that ‘brings to life’ the Nokia 6600 fold: a double tap on the Nokia 6600 slide can snooze an alert, silence or reject a call or simply wake up the hidden external 128 x 160 pixel display in order to visualize the clock.
Nokia 6600 slide
Although the 6600 should have a follower, Nokia 6600 slide is not the expected Smartphone from Nokia. Instead it brings glossy surfaces and steel covers to reveal itself as an eye catching cell phone. The Nokia 6600 slide will be available in Q3 2008 with a slightly smaller price than the fold version, around 250 Euro.
The new slider has the same double tap feature of the 6600 fold and is again based on the S40 user interface. The QVGA 2.2 inch display uses the TFT technology, but Nokia 6600 slide boasts a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera.
