Nokia 8208 Preview
Nokia 8208 could be the first Nokia handset that is not part of the N-Series lineup and still has a dual slide form factor. The official release date has not been yet announced, however, the first images that leaked with the Nokia 8208 is now available on the Internet.
Even if this fashionable dual slider is not part of the powerful N series line-up, by revealing the special multimedia controls when the display slides down, similar to the N95 dual slide mechanism, betrays its advanced multimedia functions. On the specs list is present a 3.5 mm headset jack, 3 megapixels camera (unfortunately without autofocus), Assisted GPS and EV-DO communications support (for use only in US).
The 2.2 inch display is able of a 240 x 320 pixels resolution and up to 16 M colors, more than satisfying if we take into account the phone dimensions: 101 x 45.2 x 15.9 mm. Practically, this is an N-Series that does not use the Symbian OS. Nokia 8208 offers the S40 interface known for its 2 main qualities: simplicity (excellent menus) and swiftness.
