Nokia N96 - The better half of N95
At the Mobile World Congress event, Nokia announced the N96 model. Spoiling everyone`s surprise, the newest member of the N series is in fact a a N95 in disguise. The improvements are the 16 Gb of internal memory (and a microSD card slot) and an extra LED flash added for the same 5 megapixels mediocre camera lens.
The same QVGA display from N95 is used, but it looks we`ll see more on it since the N96 has a DVB-H digital television module and is also compatible with thei N-Gage gaming platform. Considering all these improvement, Nokia N95 could have been easily entitled N95 16Gb, our only hope is that the battery autonomy has also been subject for improvement.
It looks like Nokia prolongs the appearance of a revolutionary model based on the N98 concept, instead it prefers to develop models based on the company`s mass sellers. Coming in 2008 Q3 at approximately 550 Eur ($800), N96 will force the N95 8GB model to be sold cheaper.
