Nokia N96
It is about the time for the famous N95 to be “retired”, in order to let Nokia N96 wear the Nokia crown jewel, the official announcement setts the N96 release date to 31 July.
N96 is a total update for N95, in every way from design to specs. The new Nokia comes with a very “industrial” design, very similar to N81. The features list includes a 2.8 inch QVGA display plus 16GB of internal memory (memory can be expanded with an extra 8Gb microSD card). Naturally, the super features list continues with the WiFi connectivity and the enhanced 5 megapixels camera.
The N96 has almost the same specs as the N95 8GB, but with a few improvements, the storage is now 16GB !
Microsoft has been having talks with Nokia concerning the use of Windows Mobile on S60 devices.
Almost all Nokia mobile phones currently run the Symbian operating system and such a move would be a major change for the industry leader.
Obviously the Nokia N96 will not come cheap, its announced price is 1185 $ at the time of the launch, making peoples really think before spending 4-5 US iPhones worth of money. The price should become reasonable during the winter season, or after Sony Ericsson launches the XPERIA X1.
