Orange research include the universal remote control function

     How would you like if your mobile phone could be used as universal remote control? Using the Bluetooth wireless connection, the modern phone can interact only with the PC or laptop. Orange is determined to include the universal remote control technology to one of its branded mobiles, but of course, nobody can promise the result will be seen soon.

     Orange also plans to launch by th end of 2009 a broadband television so that the user can swiftly exchange multimedia content between TV, PC and mobile phone. The plans also include the creation of a search engine to search for the favorite movies and TV shows on all 3 mentioned channels. This service should also allow the Orange client who purchase a certain subscription to use a version of Sky+ and also the mobile software Slingbox.

     Some of these options and services are already available for other carriers and Orange tries to adapt to the market by making its users familiar with mobile industry innovations. Until all these technologies will become part of its offers it may be that the competition will not sit and wait.
