Samsung D980 Duos - dual SIM and touchscreen
Samsung D980 Duos is the third handset in the Samsung DuoS line-up. Coming after the classically shaped D880 slider and D780 candybar, the new device stars a 2.6″ 320 x 240 pixel touchscreen display (no physical keyboard) and a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash.
One of the best features on the D980 is the Dual-SIM functionality, which basically means it supports 2 SIM cards at the same time. Continuing the list of features is a FM radio, and as you would expect there is a multimedia player, microSD expandable memory, web browser and email client plus a document viewer.

Unfortunately the Samsung D980 isn’t a 3G device (Samsung don’t seem to have cracked the dual SIM arrangement for UMTS yet), and it’s a slightly heavy device at 117 grams and 98 x 55 x 16mm (presumably in part due to the larger battery that DuoS devices need). Wi-Fi would have been nice too.
Released first in China, the device is now available in the European shelves at approximately 360Euro be fore taxes and subsidies. The price seems to be a real bargain, since D980 Duos is the first dual-sim touchscreen device, if we do not consider the no-name Chinese replicas that have lately invaded the market.

Very poor manual and zero post servicing in the US. Samsung US sends you to Samsung UK, who doesnt want to service as you are not a UK resident. I “bloody” nightmare (excuse the pun). And they send you off to Samsung Spain, who say they too dont service this phone. Phone books of both SIM cards are merged together (not good) languages besides English, are Thai, Malai and Japanese. Forget this if you speak a second Euro language (ie: Spanish, French, etc….no go) . If you like texting, this phone is NOT for you. They took the money and ran back to Korea. Unless you are a techy, I would run from this phone too.
