It has been a while since cell phones became fashion accessories and the phones manufacturers covered this market niche, aiming at the fashion conscious ladies devices that are sure to excel with looks rather than functionality.

Two new Samsung fashion handsets specially designed for the ladies are available in selected markets from February: L310 and L320.The first impression is that both handsets look very similar with the L’amour series which might explain the “L” adopted for the naming convention.

Samsung L310

Samsung L310 is a compact clamshell that comes in black and gold. It has an uncommon S shaped hinge and has a number of special applications - Shopping list, Fragrance type and Calories consumption. L310 has an uncommonly small 1.8″ TFT display able of 176 x 220 pixels resolution. Samsung L310 is available at a price 240 Euro before taxes or subsides.

Samsung L320

Samsung L320 adopts also the clamshell form factor but it offers rounded design and is supposed to come as a successor of the popular Samsung E570. L320 comes with a 1.9″ TFT LCD main display with a 176 x 220 resolution and an external OLED 176 x 16 pixel one. The applications of L310 also includes the Shopping list, Fragrance type and Calories consumption calculator.The tri-band Samsung L320 will hit the shelves in February for about 220 Euro before taxes or subsides.

EDGE support and tri-band GSM are no longer impressive in a phone`s features list, however, the design will be the feature that should make these devices stand out in a crowd.

The 2 megapixels camera should take care of the user’s photography needs, while USB v1.1 and Bluetooth v2.0 are to assure connectivity. The amount of on board memory is 20MB and can be expanded to 2GB with a microSD card.
