Sony Ericsson C702 and C902
Another 2 members have been added to the Cybershot family. Sony Ericsson named them C702 and C902 differentiating them from the former “K” models. This is a trial to create a new segment using “Cyber-shot” as starting point for the new naming convention.
Sony Ericsson C702
Sony Ericsson C702 is ready to take snapshots in all situations: it is water and dust proof, has a 3,2 megapixels autofocus camera that unfortunately does not benefit of a LED flash. In daylight the pictures quality will be improved with help from the face detection technology.
Sony Ericsson C702 includes a GPS module and impressive multimedia capabilities: Media player with Mega-Bass and equalizer presets, TV out, FM radio with RDS, TrackID. For the gaming fans there is included a Need For Speed 3D version.
Sony Ericsson C902
At first glance C902 looks like a K850 descendant however Sony Ericsson C902 seems to be C702`s bigger brother, adding more features to those inherited from C702 in a slightly different designed casing. The 5 megapixels camera of C902 is that start of the show and surprisingly C902 has a smaller 2 Inch TFT display, able of QVGA resolution. When shut, the display looks at least as a 2.2 Inch one, however, when the lights are on the display ‘shrinks’ because of the 8 touch sensitive camera buttons.
Sony Ericsson C902 can replace a regular digital camera with its high performance 5 megapixels camera that includes besides the face detection technology, a stabilization mechanism for photos and video recording, BestPic, auto-rotate, macro mode, photo flash LED and wide range range optimization.
Both handsets should start shipping in Q2 and will benefit of 160 MB of internal memory and Memory Stick Micro card slot.
