Sony-Ericsson G900

Sony-Ericsson G900 announced one of the world`s smallest (Only 99 grams and 13 mm thick) Smartphones, using the classical Symbian v9.1 platform with the UIQ 3.0 interface. Although very small, the features list is impressive: 3G ( including video call) and Wi-Fi plus a QVGA 6 cm touchscreen interface.

G900 benefits of a 5 megapixels autofocus camera and a software similar to the Cybershot series. The battery autonomy is impressive even for a Sony-Ericsson, the small candybar phone manages a maximum of 2 weeks in stand-by or 12 h of talk time.

The design is a classical considering the previous Sony-Ericsson models, if you are used to it, the phone is simple and ergonomic in use. G900 should be available in Q2 2008, unfortunately the price is not yet announced. Considering the fast operation capabilities revealed in the video, G900 must have at least 128 Mb RAM.

If you imagine for a second reducing the G900 features list we get G700, the “cheaper brother” of G900. G700 benefits only of a 3.2 megapixels fixed focus camera, does not include a WiFi modem and the software keys placed below the screen are not touch sensitive as the ones from G900.

One surprise that will benefit of G700 is the Symbian OS customized for a bundle of functions regarding hand writing recognition, adding automatically the notes or sending an e-mail on-the-fly.
