Sony Ericsson K810i

The Cybershot K810i is an outstanding phone, and offers a lighter, slimmer alternative to the the popular Sony Ericsson K800i. Both are camera focused handsets and both have been designed by Sony Ericsson with the digital camera user in mind. The new model brings improvements to the thick casing and battery autonomy. The Sony Ericsson K810i Cybershot is virtually the same as the hugely successful and best-selling K800i. The three key differences are that the K810i is slimmer, the buttons have a new design and the new joystick type. There are some negative opinions regarding the ergonomy of new controls, keys are a little too small on the keypad. After K810i became available, k800i became a best-buy.

Sony Ericsson made two of the best camera phones ever, so we expected a lot from the K800i’s successor. Unfortunately, what you get with the K810i is a remodeled version of the K800i, so if you would like a slimmed-down version of Sony Ericsson’s hugely successful K800i sharing the amazing 3.2 megapixel Cyber-Shotâ„¢ camera, you should go for K810i. It’s good to see that the phone is smaller and lighter, since that was one of the main complaints about the K800i. Apart from these cosmetic modifications, not much has changed in the year since the launch of the K800i.

Its photographic capabilities are the same as the K800i. In other words it’s the best camera phone currently available. The K810i can be your digital camera and MP3 player as well as a mobile phone. It costs a little more than the K800i but is slimmer and lighter. One new feature is something that Sony Ericsson call “Photo fix”: the user can adjust the light balance, contrast & brightness easily with the photo fix feature which allows the user to give each photo a professionally crisp finish. One design improvement is that the camera cover is now recessed, avoiding the problem that the K800i had with the lens cover sliding off.

The K810i is a 3G phone, and supports video calling as well as high speed downloads at up to up to 384 kbps. In common with the K800i, there’s no EDGE capability, so 2G data transfer speeds are slow. The Sony Ericsson K810i comes with 64 MB of memory & the user can use a Memory Stick Microâ„¢ M2â„¢ to extend their phones memory up to 2 GB . Audio quality is good, especially using the supplied headphones or an optional Bluetooth wireless stereo headset. It’s also possible to buy an adaptor to plug in standard 3.5mm headphones. The media player comes with many useful music features which include PlayNowâ„¢, MusicDJâ„¢ and TrackIDâ„¢. The TrackIDâ„¢ feature allows the user to record a few seconds of a song they like, but do not know what the song is called & TrackIDâ„¢ will do the rest: identify the name of the song, the name of the artist or groups.
