Vertu Constellation Monogram

Strangely, Vertu (the luxury phone division from Nokia) survived 10 years on the market and now marks the tenth anniversary with a limited version of the Constellation series. As with all Vertu phones it has a concierge key located on the left hand side which once pressed dials the Vertu Concierge button which can arrange for anything from a restaurant reservation to a boat charter

The new mobile phone is called Monogram and will be available in Pewter, Green, Red, Skye Blue or Cerise colored leathers. Such a device can not be carried in the same pocket with the car keys, considering that its price equals an average car price. Regarding the feature set, the new Vertu is not lacking but it does not adds anything new: quadband GSM, Bluetooth 2.0, 2 megapixels camera.

This model is the satin steel and black leather model with platinum keypad. The phone as with all Vertu phones the special bevel keypad system giving it a perfect feel and a sapphire crystal screen. The OS is Nokia’s S40 (which is based on the Symbian Operating System) making it similar to some Nokia phones, however the OS is far superior graphics wise. We wonder if Vertu will exist for another decade with even more outrageous prices. The luxury phones market niche should theoretically resist while there is a luxury cars market, yachts market etc…
